Weather station
Current Weather Station consists of a Davis Vantage Pro 2 cabled weather station (Davis 6152C). I have tried wireless and had issues due to the high RF environment from my amateur radio equipment. I have also had issues with infestation and destruction of two wireless stations by ants. I suspect that they are attracted to the RF for some reason.
The current station ISS is installed near my patio over grass, located 6 feet off the ground with the anemometer at around 30 feet to make it compliant with the recommended practices for siting in the station. Data is streamed to the console in the basement through 50 feet of waterproof direct-burial cable with a lightening arrester installed. The console is connected to a PC running WeatherDisplay software using the Meteotemplate API.
